Fix Salesforce Data Loader dates before the import fails

Salesforce Data Loader accepts specific representations for Date, Date/Time, and Time fields. This tool converts the columns you select to conservative supported formats while leaving identifiers, names, amounts, empty cells, and other import data in place.

1

Load the CSV

Upload or paste a UTF-8 CSV with a header row. The file is parsed entirely in your browser.

2

Confirm Salesforce fields

Review suggested temporal columns, assign their field types, and choose the actual source format.

3

Review and download

Inspect the complete audit totals, correct anything that requires judgment, and download the Salesforce-ready CSV.

Date/Time12/31/2026 9:30 AM2026-12-31T14:30:00.000ZAmerica/New_York source converted to UTC

No silent guessing: A value such as 01/02/2026 can be January 2 or February 1. Choose US or European input explicitly. Ambiguous and nonexistent local DST times are also preserved for review.

Fix “value not of required type”

Normalize date and time text before retrying a Data Loader import that rejected temporal fields.

Run a structural preflight

Find empty or duplicate headers, malformed records, uneven row widths, and encoding problems before upload.

Keep business data private

No Salesforce login or server upload is required. The file and corrected output remain in browser memory.

What this Salesforce preflight checks

The preflight checks CSV structure and only the Date, Date/Time, and Time columns you select. It does not inspect your Salesforce organization, object mappings, required fields, record IDs, permissions, picklist values, duplicate rules, flows, or custom validation rules. A clean report cannot guarantee a successful import; keep a backup and test a small batch first.

Salesforce CSV date formatter FAQ

What date format should I use for Salesforce Data Loader?

DataZier writes Date fields as YYYY-MM-DD, Date/Time fields as UTC YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ss.SSSZ, and Time fields as HH:mm:ss.SSSZ.

Does DataZier upload my Salesforce CSV?

No. CSV parsing, validation, and date conversion happen locally in your browser. Only paid-access checks use DataZier’s access endpoints.

Does this guarantee Salesforce will accept my import?

No. Object mappings, required fields, IDs, permissions, picklists, automation, and custom validation rules can still reject records.

How are ambiguous values handled?

The original value is preserved and flagged. Choose US or European input explicitly for ambiguous numeric dates; ambiguous or nonexistent DST times also require review.

Is the Salesforce CSV date formatter free?

Jobs with up to 50 selected non-empty temporal cells can be prepared and downloaded free. Larger jobs receive a 50-change preview and require DataZier Pro for the complete CSV.
